Reporting street problems in Gondomar

Gondomar has no reporting app. That is where CleanSpot matters most

We found no app or platform run by Gondomar council for reporting problems in public space. What exists are the general contacts: phone, email and the front desk. They work for making a request, but they leave nothing visible to anyone else.

CleanSpot fills that gap without waiting for the council. Take a photo, drop the pin, and the report appears on a public map with date and coordinates. Neighbours in Gondomar see it, confirm it and can volunteer to clear it, alone or as a group event.

And when the council needs chasing, a dated, photographed record of the same spot, repeated over weeks, is much harder to ignore than a phone call.

Gondomar council’s contacts

Gondomar council has no app or form for public-space reports. It has online services, a praise, suggestions and complaints form, and a residents’ ombudsman.

• Phone: 224 660 500
• Email: geral@cm-gondomar.pt
• Opening hours: weekdays, 9:00–12:30 and 14:00–17:30

Bulky items in Gondomar: free, booked by phone

Bulky-item pickup is free and must be booked in advance, weekdays 9:00 to 17:00, on the 800 200 129 freephone or 224 662 650. You can also take them to the Ecocentro da Cal in São Cosme.

If the furniture on the street is not yours, it is not a booking: it is dumping, and it should be reported.

A report that gets resolved, on any channel

What moves a report forward is nearly always the same whatever the channel: someone has to be able to find the spot and understand what is there without phoning you to ask.

• Exact location: coordinates or a pin on a map, not just the street name
• One photo close up and one from further back, so size and access are clear
• What it is: bags, rubble, furniture, a pothole, a dead street light
• How long it has been there, and whether it is the first time
• If there is a hazard (glass, asbestos, a hole on a crossing), say so first

What CleanSpot has that a municipal channel does not

• A public map of everything reported, with date, photo and coordinates
• Cleanups: anyone can volunteer, alone or as a group event with invitations and a shared recap
• Groups, comments, messages and mentions, because keeping a street clean is neighbours’ work rather than form-filling
• Vision AI that suggests severity and tags from the photo
• Duplicate detection: if a pin already exists a few metres away, your photo joins that record instead of splitting it
• Per-location recurrence history, the argument that justifies a new container or more collections
• Works offline: the report queues and uploads when there is a connection
• 30 languages, free, no advertising
